This COVID-19 pandemic WILL end and when it does I want you to emerge from it healthier than you were before.

Thinking positively, this unprecedented Shelter In Place period has presented us with a unique opportunity to help you reinforce good oral hygiene habits and improve the oral health of your family.

You may have heard the saying: “Bad habits are easy to form and hard to live with. Good habits are hard to form and easy to live with”. That said, if you intend to make improved daily oral hygiene compelling and automatic, expect it to take some time, and persistence.

Your persistence will result in lifelong benefits. Good daily oral hygiene habits will reduce the likelihood of:

  • Calculus (tartar) buildup.
  • Tooth decay.
  • Tooth sensitivity.
  • Gum disease.
  • Stained teeth.
  • Bad breath.
  • Tooth loss.

You will also save time and money by reducing your need for restorative dental care.

So let’s get into it. Over the next few articles, I will discuss the following with you:

  1. Tips on selecting helpful oral hygiene products.
  2. Hand washing.
  3. Flossing.
  4. Mouth Rinsing.
  5. Tooth brushing.
  6. Home care for tooth sensitivity.

I will answer any questions you may have as we go along so please let me have your feedback as we address each subject.

Yours in Health,
Sharon Albright, D.D.S.
